Commit a couple of hours, or the entire day and join others throughout the nation making communities a safer place to live on Saturday, May 2, 2015. Challenge friends, family members, a faith-based group or youth organization to create a project and accomplish something great together!
Efforts will raise wildfire awareness and help protect homes, neighborhoods and entire communities, while increasing safety for wildland firefighters during future wildfires; or your project could lessen current post-fire impacts.
Put your project on the map
Demonstrate your commitment to wildfire preparedness by adding your May 2 project to the nationwide event map. It’s easy to do and in less than two minutes you’ll be able to proudly share your community’s project. Join others throughout the nation making their communities a safer place.

March 12 Virtual Workshop
Join NFPA and special guests for the 2015 Wildfire Community Preparedness Day Virtual Workshop Thursday, March 12 at 10am MT.
Get ideas on how to organize friends of all ages, neighbors, or a community group and work together on a project that reduces your local wildfire risk. We’ll share access to free promotional resources and get you motivated with success stories from past events. Discover how you can easily implement activities where you live. Project ideas range from a couple of hours to an entire day and come in all shapes and sizes.
Advance registration is not required. Invest less than an hour in learning how wildfire stakeholders everywhere can become a local champion.

Help Spread the Word
Visit the resources page and download a Preparedness Day flyer or postcard to promote your project and encourage friends and neighbors to participate in your activity, or plan one of their own. And use the official Facebook profile picture to let your friends know you’re taking action to help your community.
