Southern Marin Fire District to Host 3 “Ready Marin” Events

Southern Marin Fire Chief Chris Tubbs and Battalion Chief Kai Pasquale will discuss Lessons Learned during the recent Sonoma and Napa County Fires, including evacuation tips. 

What can we do to lessen the risks to our community from wildland fires?

Emergency Preparedness Commissioners will address residents’ responsibilities regarding personal/ family preparedness.

How to Pack a Grab and Go Bag

Collect what’s on your Top Ten List (what would you grab if given 10 min. to evacuate and where they are located), which may include the following:

  • Wallet, ID’s, keys, cell phone & charger
  • Important documents , stored on portable hard drive or thumb drive
  • Prescription Medications, Personal Hygiene Items, Eyeglasses & Hearing Aid Batteries
  • Laptop computer
  • Special items for infants, elderly, or disabled family members
  • Flashlight, extra batteries
  • Safety goggles, cotton gloves and a dust mask for each family member
  • Emergency Contact phone numbers, including Out of Area contact (outside Bay Area)
  • Pet leash and/or carrying box and small amount of pet food
  • Cash in small denominations
