Rosmarinus officinalis, commonly known as rosemary, is a woody, perennial herb with fragrant, evergreen, needle-like leaves and white, pink, purple, or blue flowers, native to the Mediterranean region.
When irrigated and maintained free of dead, twiggy material, rosemary is relatively fire resistant. Because of its volatile oil content, and tendency to collect dead material when in bush form, rosemary should be removed within 30′ of structures.
