NATIONAL WILDFIRE COMMUNITY PREPAREDNESS DAY 2015

President Obama sends greetings to Wildfire Community Preparedness Day participants in a Presidential Message posted today. Read the President’s full message of encouragement and the role we each play in preparing for wildfires.

Commit a couple of hours, or the entire day, and join others throughout the nation making communities a safer place to live on Saturday, May 2, then follow up for the full wildfire Preparedness week May 3-9.  Challenge friends, family members, a faith-based group or youth organization to create a project. and accomplish something great together!

Efforts will raise wildfire awareness and help protect homes, neighborhoods and entire communities, while increasing safety for wildland firefighters; or your project could lessen current post-fire impacts.
