Marin Wildfire Prevention Authority Projects

With the passage of Measure C and the subsequent creation of the Marin Wildfire Prevention Authority (MWPA), Fire Safe Marin (FSM) was named the education and outreach arm of the JPA, expanding its educational program in FY 2020-2021. Programming includes monthly webinars, production of videos, community workshops, creation and distribution of educational materials including bi-lingual translations, training and support for Fire Mitigation Specialists, organizational support for Firewise sites, print media articles, and reorganization of its website. Fire Safe Marin also received funding to manage a county-wide curbside chipper program, an NOAA weather radio pilot, and a Red Flag Warning sign pilot. In FY 2021-2022, funding was renewed to continue and expand the organization’s educational programming.
