Every home in Marin will receive a Wildfire Home Evaluation Report – your personalized plan for wildfire safety. A trained team of wildfire inspectors may have already visited your home or will be by in the next few months. After their visit, you receive their report identifying issues that put your home at risk of ignition. The good news is that fixing these issues can save your home and neighborhood. Please do your part to protect the community!
Home evaluation reports are created using an application called Fire Aside. They are easy to understand, with photos of specific issues and step-by-step instructions to reduce risks. A checklist at the end of the report helps you to make a long term plan that addresses priorities and works for your budget. Grants are available to offset costs for this work.
This must watch video with Todd Lando, Battalion Fire Chief, will help you understand your evaluation report page by page.
